On 16 April, as part of its Policy, Guns & Money podcast series, ASPI released a podcast featuring ONI's First Assistant Director General Carl and Assistant Director General Karinda talking with Michael Shoebridge on careers in national intelligence.
Carl and Karinda’s discussion with Michael Shoebridge at ASPI focused on a number of NIC workforce themes, including:
- the reasons why someone would want to join an Australian intelligence agency – as opposed to a job in the private sector;
- the impact of the impact of technological change on the NIC agencies and what this means for people considering a career in one of the agencies;

- the ranges the range of skills and aptitudes needed by NIC agencies now and in the near future
